Missing man found dead, drifted in Catanduanes coast

Oas, Albay—A man who reportedly went missing yesterday was found dead, drifting along the shoreline of Baras, Catanduanes, early Monday morning, February 6.

According to the Baras MDRRMO, a lifeless body was reportedly seen floating at around 1:15 a.m. at the shoreline of Sitio Kagnanok in Brgy. Salvacion, Baras, Catanduanes.

Authorities quickly dispatched an Emergency Response Team to recover the body and upon confirmation, it was identified as Antonio Esteban, 68, resident of Brgy. Tilod, Catanduanes.

The victim was first reported as a missing person last Sunday, February 5 at the Baras Municipal Police Station and Baras MDRRMO.

Esteban was last seen wearing green shirt and black shorts in slumber with his wife last Saturday evening but found missing at around 1 a.m.

Authorities are still looking into the possible reasons of the victim’s drowning. | via Ken Oliver V. Balde
