The blood supply at Bicol South Luzon Sub National Reference Laboratory (BSL-SNRL) – Blood Center is critically low, according to its advisory today, January 5.
The low supply is due to the absence of Mobile Blood Donations (MBD) activities at the start of January 2023 and there also less scheduled MBDs in the coming weeks.
With this, relatives of patients in need of blood are advised to bring donors to the blood center to supply their request for blood units.
BSL-SNRL is also encouraging all blood service facilities to conduct their Mobile Blood Donation on the 1st and 4th quarter of the year as this will contribute to increasing the blood supply at the blood center during the lean months.
