First WOFEX stop concludes in Legazpi City

LEGAZPI CITY — With almost 100 exhibitors from all over the Philippines, the first stop of World Food Expo (WOFEX) concludes its 3-day food mania at Legazpi Convention Center, Legazpi City on Saturday, March 2. 

Filled with food seminars, cooking shows, and food-related ventures, WOFEX recieved overwhelming visitors from different sectors of Bicol region from February 29 to March 2. 

In an interview with Joel Pascual, president of  Peptarsus Corporation and also the organizer of the said expo, highlighted that even if its their second time visiting the region and bringing WOFEX to Bicolanos, they are still shaken up by the means of support they received on their 3-day run. 

“Our intention every time we do WOFEX is to help the (businessmen) upgrade their facilities [and learn in seminars and trainings],” Pascual said. 

Pascual also added that choosing Bicol as one of their leg stops specifies that the tourism and economical state of the region is progressive. 

“Everytime we chose a location we chose locations na we feel is economically progressive, tourism-friendly, medyo malakas ang turismo. As part of our research, we bring it (WOFEX) to Bicol also kasi it means, it has a potential for growth,” he said. 

WOFEX will soon set its other expo events in Baguio City, Davao City, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Manila. | Danica Roselyn Lim
