In everyone’s dream wedding, there is always a couple who brings forth the light of love above anything else – and that is where foodpanda started their initiative, Kasalang ka-Panda.
This first-time initiative has been bought out by foodpanda’s logistics team last year as they asked their delivery partners to submit unique love stories and have the chance to to be one of the lucky chosen couples to be selected and for their dream wedding to be granted.
“In our own way, we want to give back for their efforts and commitment to serve our partner vendors and app users all over the country. Somehow, it is also supporting those who can’t afford to finance and organize their own wedding,” Patricia Jacinto, foodpanda Philippines operations director said.
More than how most people see these foodpanda riders to deliver foods and groceries on a daily basis, Jacinto emphasized that there is always something much more than that.
“They are also people with stories worth-telling and that’s what we also want to highlight in this initiative,” she added.
For Camarines Sur couple, Ronald Vinas and Raquel Lorico, the Kasalang ka-Panda has paved a positive pace for them when they were chosen as one of the couple benefactors of the said initiative.
“[Nung] sinabi namin sa pamilya namin ‘yung tungkol sa kasalang ka-Panda tapos tuwang-tuwa sila lahat,” Lorico said.
The couple who lives in Naga City has been together for 9 years and they are planning to be wed on 2024, but foodpanda just got their back in a fortunate luck when their wedding happened sooner than they expected.
“Kaya napakaswerte talaga namin at kami ang napili. Sobrang saya namin dahil naibigay yung pinapangarap naming kasal na mas higit pa sa aming inaakala,” Vinas added.
Aside from them, there are also other couples from Davao and Cavite that snatched their dream wedding into a reality because of Kasalang ka-Panda. | Danica Roselyn Lim
