Brinks to rise in Naga City, MNG to vet 100 candidates for employment

Oas, Albay— Brinks, the global leader for total cash management and security company, will soon start its operations in Bicol region, particularly in Naga City.

In a conference dated Monday, Feb. 13, the Group of Initiatives for Better Opportunities (GIBO) through Marhay na GIBO (MNG) Inc.,  along with Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion, Investment Board Executive Director Reuel Oliver and Vice President for Cash Operations Sigfredo ‘Doy’ Rivera, successfully convinced Brinks to invest and open its operations in Naga City.

According to MNG co-founder, Ronald ‘Bong’ Rodriquez, the decision to open Brinks in Naga City was highly influenced by the city’s reputation of becoming the financial center of the region.

“Brinks is very aggressive in expanding its operations in other parts of the country [and] Bicol is one of the expansion areas they identified. We made a case for them to locate in Naga City, it being the banking and financial center of the entire Bicol Region.” Rodriguez said.

The MNG community will also lead the endorsement of 100 candidates for employment in Brinks, in which 60-70 employees coming from Naga City, Pili, and Ocampo, Camarines Sur will get to be initially hired.

“Employees can come from anywhere (however), we prefer applicants from the areas mentioned to make it easier for the daily commute of the employees.” Rodriguez furthered.
