Highest single-day visitation record since re-opening – National Museum Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY – National Museum Bicol sets highest single-day visitation record ever since its re-opening on October 1, 2022, for accomodating an approximate of 1,600 guests from different schools in Albay on Thursday, Feb. 2.

The museum anticipated students, teachers, and parents from different schools such as Bonga National High School, Ponso National High School, Itaran National High School, Polangui General Comprehensive High School, and Polangui North Central School.

According to Rochelle Buen, the supervising administrative officer and designated head of the Bicol Regional Museum and satellite office, they are overwhelmed by their jam-packed schedule involving the different time appointments set by the visiting schools.

“Na-overwhelm kami ‘nong aming mga visitors, again jam-packed kami and at the same time parang natutuwa kami na after more tha two years nag-open ulit ‘yung educational tour sa mga students. At the same time, ‘yung mandate namin sa national museum to impart education parang paunti-unti naachieve namin dito sa Bicol,” Buen said in an interview with Bicol.PH.

As part of the tour within the museum, the staff guided the visitors to explore the 4-part indoor portion, the outdoor butterfly garden and plant nursery.

“Very enjoying siya tapos maganda siya siyempre kapag buong barkada ang isasama mo, refreshing din ang atmosphere kapag sa acads and pwede din siyang escape doon. Pwede siyang maging breather mo,” said Pete Andrei Saulon, a freshman Chemistry student in Bicol University College of Science.

The museum offers free guided tours and free admission so it will be more accessible to the public.
