PCG Albay vows accessible service to Legazpeños

LEGAZPI CITY— With the signed Deed of Usufruct Agreement with the City Government of Legazpi headed by Mayor Geraldine Rosal on Monday, January 30, the Philippine Coast Guard Station (PCG) Albay promises a more accessible service to Legazpeños.

In a facebook post, Philippine Coast Guard Albay Commander Jeffrey Collado states the 417-square-meter lot at Brgy. Dap-Dap, Legazpi City owned by the Legazpi LGU, will house a new building for the PCG Station Albay which will include personnel barracks and equipment storage, as stated in the usufruct agreement.

With this, the search and rescue and other operation of the PCG Albay will be more functional due to the ideal location.

In an interview with Bicol.PH, Coast Guard Albay Acting Station Deputy Commander John Laurence D.  Banzuela said the agreement between the Legazpi City Government and PCG is beneficial for both parties. Legazpi City can expect a more responsive PCG in times of emergencies as their location is close-at-hand.

The usufruct agreement has a period of 25 years and can be renewed for another 25 years if both parties agrees to the terms and conditions. | Aaron John M. Baluis
