With the support of the Naga City Government and NEDA, the Beecall TBI and the Naga City Startup Community sent nearly 30 delegates to the Philippine Startup Week PhSW in Metro Manila from Nov 14-16, 2022.
The PhSW is the biggest annual startup conference in the country. This year’s theme is: “Homegrown Heroes: Cultivating Future Tech Giants.”
The immersion exposed the Bicol startup founders and their co-founders to new knowledge, technology, systems, and most importantly, networks that include Tech Business Incubators (TBIs), Venture Capitalists (VCs) and other startup ecosystem players.
This year’s startup gathering took notice of the emerging Naga City Startup Community and the headway that the Beecall TBI is making in the region. Beecall TBI which stands for Bicol Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Center for Accelerating Local Livelihood is a Bicol-based Technology Business Incubator.
Naga City Startup Community Co-Founder and President Ronald Bong Rodriguez believes that Naga City is a fertile ground for a new startup hub in the Bicol Region. He gives credit to the strong support of the Naga City Government and its conscious effort to collaborate with tech business incubators, the academe, and other startup community stakeholders that the City startup ecosystem is attracting significant interest and attention right now.
Rodriguez underscored the collaborative culture among the current leaders of the Naga City Startup Community as a major contributor to the ongoing success of the ecosystem.
Aside from community building, they are also investing in capacity building, infrastructure and shared services.
