A Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) measuring 87 centimeters in length and 75 cm. in width was released to the shores of Bagamanoc, Catanduanes early this month.
The marine turtle was turned over by a resident to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bagamanoc through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist who immediately reported the same to Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO ) Catanduanes. The release was spearheaded by PENRO Catanduanes.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) V says the continuous information, education and communication (IEC) campaigns being conducted by the DENR have caused increasing numbers of public turnovers to the office.
