Initiated by Tabang Kariton, pet owners flocked to Toots Perez Mini Zoo in Crossing, Masbate City to attend the Holy Mass and have their pets blessed in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology and animals.
In his message, Rev. Dr. Lorenzo Bastista, Parish Priest of St. Patrick Parish thanked the organizers and congratulated the pet owners for joining the celebration. He also encouraged other pet owners to join in the next celebration saying “We can give the Lord more gratitude for these pets that have become a part of our lives”.
Dr. Roberto Celera, the Resident Veterinarian of the venue reminded the pet owners to not forget that pets are part of family. As such, pet’s vaccines should be prioritized especially this rainy season when leptospirosis is usually on the rise.
