Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Dr. Maria Rosario Vergeire and Undersecretary Dr. Nestor F. Santiago Jr. visited the Bicol Region General Hospital and Geriatric Medical Center (BRGHGMC) yesterday, October 19. They were accompanied by DOH Bicol Center for Health Development Regional Director Ernie Vera, Bicol Medical Center (BMC) Medical Center Chief Dr. Ronnie Gregorio Gigantone III, BRGHGMC OIC-Medical Center Chief Dr. Ramon C. Echano Jr., and Medical Specialist Dr. Narcissa Louella Bonacua.
The guests viewed the acute stroke unit, cardiac section, geriatric ward, nurse station, geriatric medicine wellness center, hearing/testing room, and ophthalmology unit.
Dr. Vergeire in her message lauded the hospital for its geriatric services and recommended future steps to take to improve the same.
The visiting party also graced the 4th batch of the Geriatric and Gentology Nursing Training Program, which was held at the BRGHGMC training center.
