Naga City has clinched the top spot for the third consecutive year in the annual Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Urban Team Awards.
Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the CMCI, often regarded as a key indicator of a city or municipality’s growth and investment potential, assesses LGUs based on five fundamental pillars: government efficiency, infrastructure, economic dynamism, and innovation and resiliency. This comprehensive evaluation provides a holistic view of their competitiveness and attractiveness to investors.
According to DTI Bicol Regional Director Dindo Nabol, The annual CMCI awards serve as an essential platform to highlight the remarkable strides made by LGUs in improving their competitiveness and attracting investments.
“It translates to a good image of the LGU and yan ang mga hinahanap ng ating mga investors. so if they ranked well in the CMCI they have a good potential for best business expansion”, said Nabol.
Awards reaped by the LGUs in Bicol in the 10th CMCI recognition are the following:

3rd to 4th Class Municipalities
Top 4 – Canaman, Camarines Sur
1st to 2nd Class Municipalities
Top 5 – Pilar, Sorsogon
Top 10 – Placer, Masbate
