Geothermal leader Energy Development Corporation’s (EDC) education program Keitech wins Best Corporate Social Responsibility Project for Education at the 2023 League of Corporate Foundations’ CSR Guild Awards on Thursday, July 6, at the Makati Diamond Residences.
Established in 2009, Keitech is a technical-vocational school in Leyte initiated by EDC in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and has produced over 1,200 graduates, 90% of which are now employed.
The program was also recognized for having a consistent 100% national certification passing rate among its trainees.
In his appreciation message, Keitech President Allan Barcena expressed his gratitude for the exemplary award.
“This recognition will inspire us to continue transforming the lives of our out-of-school-youth in Leyte through our values-based technical-vocational education program,” Barcena stated.
With the company’s mission of building collective pathways for a “decarbonized and regenerative future,” Keitech estimates a multiplier effect of more than 6,000 lives that have been reached, changed, and uplifted across its more than 100 communities.
Keitech recently held its 14th Commencement Exercises with sixty (60) trainee graduates.
