BROTSA moves towards glass cutting and sculpting art

Bicolanong Respetado an Obra, Tawo, Sining Atbp. (BROTSA) takes its drive toward greener future through Glass Cutting and Sculpting Art Workshop, on Sunday, July 16, at the Food Court of LCC Malls Legazpi City.

This art group based in Legazpi is taking their first step for their projects to become environment-friendly through upcycling and this initiative came from BROTSA President Maria Gabrielle Tuazon’s husband.

Domingo Angelo LB Tuazon, 57, business owner and the instructor for glass cutting workshop shared at how he started his hobby (glass cutting) through his concern toward wasted bottles that aren’t sold especially the green colored ones.

Through his curiosity, he started unlocking the word of glass cutting that’s more than just liquid holding containers.

In an interview with Bicoldotph, Tuazon mentioned that lamp shades from glass cutting is in-demand and at the same time, he incorporates his digital printing business to customize the lamp shade glasses according to his clients’ request.

With almost 6 years of experience, Tuazon adviced aspiring glass cutters to have enough perseverance especially because of its time-demanding and painstaking process.

“Kailangan mag tiyaga sa pagputol. Ako nga hangang ngayon ang damage ko [sa pag cut] is 20%, kaya tiyagaan talaga,” he said. | Allyza Morcozo
