Philhealth Bicol, BMC Expand Partnership to Enhance Health Care Accessibility

Bicol Medical Center (BMC) located in Naga City is strengthening its comprehensive healthcare services for Bicolanos through a collaboration with Philhealth Bicol, implementing the Z benefit packages.

On March 28th of this year,  BMC sealed its partnership with the social health insurance corporation, aiming to provide more accessible patient care services and address critical, high-cost illnesses through the ten (10) out of nineteen (19) essential Z Benefit packages.

The expanded Z Benefit services now available at BMC include care for breast cancer, colon and rectum cancer, kidney transplant, peritoneal dialysis, coronary artery bypass graft, tetralogy of fallot, ventricular septal defect, as well as care for premature and small newborns, and children with hearing impairments.

Dr. Rose Maria Rempillo, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Health Center for Health Development for Bicol Region, emphasized the value of the partnership to the welfare of all its beneficiaries.

“With the partnership of PhilHealth and Bicol Medical Center, we aim to lessen the worries. We commit to ease what is difficult. We hope that this health partnership will create a difference and close the gap we often face,” Rempillo said.

Alberto Manduriao, PhilHealth Regional Vice-President for Bicol, acknowledged this as a major milestone that firmly establishes BMC as the region’s leading healthcare facility in terms of offering a wide range of Z Benefit services.

He also conveyed his optimism that BMC will soon be capable of delivering all 19 Z Benefit packages to further enhance public access to critical healthcare.I Erica Razo
