Gov’t Agencies, Stakeholders Sign Solidarity Pact for 2025 Elections

Legazpi City — Key government agencies and stakeholders have signed a solidarity pact to reinforce collaboration in ensuring peaceful and orderly 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections.

The signing, led by COMELEC Bicol, was attended by Department of Education Bicol, the 6th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, the Coast Guard Bicol, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other stakeholders. It forms part of the PNP’s 100-day operational activities aimed at securing the election period.

According to PNP Bicol, intensified checkpoint operations, motorcycle and bike patrols, and heightened police presence will continue in key areas. However, they emphasized that the COMELEC remains the lead agency during this period, and the police will act based on its directives.

COMELEC Bicol, Regional Election Director Atty. Maria Juana Valeza, emphasized the importance of collaboration among agencies and stakeholders in ensuring a smooth and credible election.

“Hopefully yung commitment of pledge nila and solidarity with us na papaayusin ang election is i-fulfill nila, yun naman ang palagi nating hinihingi pagdating ng elections,” Valeza stated.

Atty. Valeza also assured that preparations are in full swing despite some minor timeline adjustments.

She expressed hope that the election schedule will remain unchanged and that no Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs) from the Supreme Court will disrupt the process.

Authorities vowed to sustain security efforts leading up to the elections, reinforcing their commitment to protect democracy and uphold electoral integrity.I Jeric Lopez
