For the first time since 2022 presidential elections, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., and former Vice President and Naga City mayor aspirant Leni Robredo have met each other during the inauguration of Sorsogon Sports Arena on Thursday, Oct. 7, akin to the 50th Golden Anniversary of the Kasanggayahan Festival.
In the speech of President Marcos, he said that Sorsogon Sports Arena symbolizes the progress of Sorsogon, saying that it is an important step to promote people with sports skills.
He said that through the arena, more Filipinos will bring honor to the country.
Marcos said that the Sampaloc tenement housing project in Sorsogon City will serve as a refuge for the beneficiaries.
Senate President Chiz Escudero, who’s also from Sorsogon, said that he’s proud of the province.
The Sorsogon Sports Arena has 12,000 seating capacity.
Aside from Robredo, former senators and 2025 senatoriables Bam Aquino, Vicente Sotto III, and Lito Lapid also attended the said inauguration.
