On Monday, March 25, Albay’s Office of the Vice Governor launched their compendium publication: a coffee table took titled “The Summary (2023 Accomplishment Report)” at the Pepperland Hotel in Legazpi City.
Said book, a product of the collaborative effort of the OVG and Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albay (SPA), encapsulates the highlights of the involved parties’ endeavors throughout the calendar year of 2023.
Featuring a monthly rundown of events and activities, the coffee table book serves as a visual narrative of shared vision, goals, and successes achieved by the local government.
“The idea began when we compiled all the photos we had accumulated over the months of 2023. We thought, ‘It would be a waste not to create a montage of these beautiful images showcasing our activities,” Abelardo “Billy” Balin Jr., Chief of Staff of the Office of the Vice Governor, stated as he recalled how they came up with the book.
Furthermore, he highlighted the enduring value of tangible things, ensuring that memories and accomplishments can be revisited and cherished over time.
“Napakahalaga sa atin ng mga tangible items. Yung mga bagay na pwede mo hawakan, pwede mo makita, pwede mo balikan,” Balin furthered.
During the launch event, Albay Vice Governor Glenda Ong-Bongao also echoed her sentiments on collaboration and shared success, which she thought of as the very reflection of the book.
“If there’s one thing na I constantly believed sa aking 25 years in public service, it’ll be that there’s no such thing as I, me, and myself only. Walang akong ako lang. This book is a testament to that,” VG Bongao claimed.
“No one will succeed if they are to solely rely on themselves. Ika nga nila, the greatest achievements in life are shared with someone else,” she added, further stressing her point.
Said launch garnered attendance from representatives spanning across nearly all sectors and departments that constitute Albay’s diverse community. | Kian Kirby F. Florano
