4PH Malinao ceremony marks construction of over 3k housing units

The local government unit (LGU) of Malinao, Albay, commenced a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, March 19, at Santa Elena, marking the initiation of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.

The residence is called “Don Maximino Chavez de Malinao Residencias,”  which is named after the land owner. This ceremony marked the beginning of constructing 3,552 housing units, which will cover approximately 102,925.30 square meters of land in the area.

Said municipality is in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), which aim to provide sustainable housing solutions to Filipino families, particularly those facing housing challenges in the area.

Sheryl Capus-Bilo, the municipal mayor of Malinao, expressed her commitment to the project, emphasizing the national government’s effort to fulfill its promise of providing quality and affordable housing.

“Ito ay panibagong simulang pagbabago tungo sa pag-unlad ng ating kumunidad… (Ito) ang magbibigay daan para sa isang maganda at mas maunlad na kinabukasan dito sa Malinao,” Bilo stated.

Furthermore, Atty. Rosve Henzon, undersecretary of DSUHD, is confident that this project is in good hands, ensuring that not only the towns in Albay will benefit from the program but also the whole population around the country.

“Bilang national flagship program ni Presidente [Bong Bong Marcos], ang nais po ng DHSUD (ay) walang pamilyang Pilipino ang walang sariling bahay sa sariling bayan. Ito po ay ang magiging katotohanan dito sa Barangay Malinao,” Henzon said.

Atty. Junefe Payot, executive vice president of SHFC, assured that the project would be completed expeditiously to facilitate the timely relocation of residents into their new homes. The project plans to construct 37 building units, accommodating diverse housing needs within the community. I Lyzha Mae Agnote
