A Bicolano graduate from Naga College Foundation secured the 10th spot in the February 2024 Licensure Examination for Criminologists (LEC), announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday, March 6.
Russell Roslin Abes, 24, from Poblacion Pamplona, Camarines Sur, is the seventh among his siblings. Being the only one in the family required to take a licensure exam, first-time taker Abes was thrilled to emerge as one of the topnotchers in the LEC with an 89.40 percent rating.
In an interview, Abes shared that he really worked hard to achieve that spot, believing that such an accomplishment would open doors to more opportunities. He went through almost seven months of reviewing, fueled by his desire to uplift his family’s standard of living.
Furthermore, Abes revealed that he did not graduate from Naga College Foundation with Latin honors, but this motivated him to strive even harder in the said licensure exam.
Moreover, he highlighted the importance of prayer as a vital element for success, in addition to emphasizing the value of hard work.
Currently, Abes is on the lookout for opportunities, with his next aim being to join the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) this year.| Melojane Guiriña
