Ogie Diaz brings his acting workshop in Legazpi City

Multi-talented comedian actor and talent manager, Ogie Diaz, set the spotlight on young artists in Legazpi City as he brought his acting workshop, dubbed “TAPIK,” to SM City Legazpi on Wednesday, February 28.

Thirty-three (33) participants, including children and adults, were trained within three hours, to showcase their potential in acting through various genres and character types.

Christine Joy Letada, one of the participants from the recently conducted workshop, shared her experience in joining the program, highlighting her learnings while interacting with Ogie Diaz.

“Kung gusto mo talaga mag-artista kailangan mo talaga siya i-pursue. Natutunan ko na kapag nag-aacting ka, hindi lang ‘yong lines ang [kailangan] mo i-follow, kailangan mo rin ipasok dito ‘yong emotion and character or role mo,” Letada said.

In an interview, Ogie Diaz revealed that he was surprised by the outstanding talent showcased by the aspiring artists in his workshop, particularly emphasizing his pride as a Bicolano.

“Surprisingly, nararamdaman mo talaga sa mga Bicolano lalo na dito sa mga taga-Legazpi ‘yong desire nila na mag-artista kasi ambilis nila matuto, ambilis nilang makuha ‘yong mga pointers ko kaya sobra akong pumalakpak kanina dahil ambilis nilang nakasabay kaya sobra akong proud na nagsagawa ako ng workshop dito (and) at the same time, proud Bicolano rin ako,” Diaz said.

Meanwhile, Aujie Gemoro, event director, mentioned that the recently conducted workshop is just part of their initial plans. He revealed that they are gearing up for upcoming workshops in Legazpi City as part of their ongoing efforts to bring valuable training opportunities to the area.

The group, including Ogie Diaz, took the workshop to Sorsogon City on the same day to reach and train aspiring artists in the said place. | Lyzha Mae Agnote
