P120-M COA new buildings to provide effective, efficient gov’t services in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY  – The PHP110-million buildings that will soon rise in the Commission on Audit (COA) regional office here are expected to bring effective, efficient, and enhanced delivery of government services to the people.

The project is being realized with the support of the Ako Bicol Party List (AKB) while costs in construction are sourced from the General Appropriations Act of 2024.

During a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, AKB Rep. and House Committee of Appropriation Chair Elizaldy Co said the project is one of the many infrastructure development plans of the Marcos administration being constructed in the region.

“Ito ay dahil sa suporta, malasakit at pagmamahal nina Pangulong Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr.  at Speaker Martin Romualdez , maganda ang hinaharap nating mga Bicolano. Marami nang dumaang lider sa Kongreso, pero walang katulad ang pinapakita at pinapadamang pagmamahal ng ating pangulo, tudo ang kanyang suporta sa ating mga Bicolano (This is because of the support, concern and love of President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. and Speaker Martin Romualdez, the future of our Bicolanos is bright. There have been many leaders in Congress, but nothing like the love shown and felt by our president, all his support to our Bicolanos),” Co said.

He said the construction of a three-storey building with a total floor area of 1,488.24 sq.m is expected to be finished within this year.

Aside from the construction of the multi-purpose building, rehabilitation of different buildings that will provide quality services is expected like the COA training center,  covered court,  director’s quarter, and the multi-purpose building.

Also present during the activity were AKB Rep. Raul Angelo Bongalon,  AKB Executive Director Alfredo Garbin, COA Assistant Commissioner for Local Government Audit Sector Alexander B. Juliano, and COA Assistant Commissioners for Administration Sector Lorna D. Cabochan, among others. I Connie Calipay
