The Energy Development Corporation (EDC) bagged a gold and two (2) silver awards at the 8th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA), one of the most prestigious international award-giving bodies for sustainability reporting in Asia.
With its 2021 Integrated Report, the EDC managed to get the gold award for Asia’s Best Sustainability Report (CEO Letter category), and silver awards for Asia’s Best Sustainability Report (Private Company category) and Asia’s Best Integrated Report (Value Creation category) and was conferred to the EDC during the awarding ceremony in Singapore last March 30.
“EDC’s integrated report demonstrates its commitment to high-quality disclosure about how it manages material environmental, social and governance issues, risks and opportunities to create sustainable value for its stakeholders,” Rajesh Chhabara, founder of ASRA and managing director of CSWorks, stated.
Meanwhile, Allan Barcena, assistant vice-president and head of Corporate Relations and Communications of EDC, was grateful to CSWRWorks for recognizing their company’s report.
“These awards inspire us to not only keep on improving our reports but more importantly, to work towards having a regenerative ESG performance,” Barcena said.
EDC is considered as the country’s pure renewable energy (RE) company and the geothermal subsidiary of the First Gen Corporation, the leading clean energy provider in the Philippines. I Arvie Bediones
