Mark Jefferson Grecia, a 24 year old nursing student from Daet, Camarines Norte is making his name as a solo artist, singer-song writer, producer and recording artist.
Grecia’s single, “Elevate”, recently lands on the top spot of Spotify’s viral 50 global chart and rank one (1) on Genius’ Trending OPM/HipHop Song.
In an interview with Bicol.PH, Grecia admitted that his songs are a reflection of his personal experiences.
“Sa nag-hit ko na song, paalala siya sa mga tao na kung anu man ang ginagawa mo ngayon, merong downfall yan palagi, kaya always put limitations; we [should always be] aware sa lahat ng ginagawa natin,” Grecia said.
According to Grecia, music flows in his blood. He first started writing freestyle songs with his friends back in 2015, however, it was in 2019 when he finally decided to produce and post his songs on various online streaming platforms such as on his YouTube channel, Facebook, Spotify, and Apple music links.
Grecia also humbly shared that he already expected his songs to be listed among the viral top 50 chart as he poured his hundred percent effort in crafting his songs, but he never expected it to land on top.
“Galingan lang nila, gawa lang sila ng gawa ng music. Wag nila isipin ang gigs kasi kusa yan na darating kapag gusto mo naman talaga ang ginagawa mo,” said Grecia as his message to all aspiring singer-song writer artists like him. | Aaron John Baluis
