Stephany Mae S. Chi, 22, from Cabugao, Bato, Catanduanes, obtained the 6th spot in 2023 Medical Technologist Licensure Exam with an average of 91.40.
Chi graduated last 2022 in University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi. She is the eldest daughter of Orlie and Riza Chi who owns a trucking services. She was crowned as Bb. Catandungan in 2019.
She says being a licensed Medical Technologist was not really her dream but she eventually learned to love it as she studied it more.
“I’m grateful to have found fulfillment in this program. I think ‘yun din kasi yung importante. Maybe at first you don’t like it, but if you try to see the purpose and the essence of what you’re doing, it gets easier.
Medtech was the perfect program for me in this particular time,” she said.
Chi also added that she only prayed for a passing grade but didn’t expect to be one of the topnotchers.
“I thought it would be nice to top the boards. Pero di ko siya in-expect. I struggled a lot on the last 2 weeks of my review. I prayed for a passing grade. ‘Yun lang. Pero ‘yun, may blessing pa pala. I’m just really grateful,” she stated.
Chi also said that she even doubted herself if she can really pass the board.
“It took [me] a lot of courage to show up on the day of the board exam. I’m glad that I did,” she said.
She also expressed her gratitude to those who helped her throughout her journey.
“I really have no other words to say to those who have supported me since day one other thank you. Maraming salamat, for believing in me,” she stated. I via Aimee Mae Gizelle Sesno
