MASBATE CITY – Heartbreak songs and real-life experiences that transcend in every line of the song made way for Kymberlly Claire Cadao’s music journey.
Cadao is a 19-year-old singer and composer from Masbate City. She says her childhood was her training ground. She was in 9th grade when she started to write her own music compositions.
“Kapag ‘yung nakaka-feel po ako ng pain or someone broke my heart, nai-inspire po ako gumawa ng isang song which is dedicated to someone, and also kapag masaya din po ako,” Kymberlly said in an interview with Bicol.PH

Cadao is quite astonishing when writing a song. In fact, she writes her songs before bedtime and writes the lyrics overnight.
“Bigla pong pumapasok ‘yung different lyrics, ‘yung rhymes, thoughts sa isip ko na hindi po ako pinapatulog hangga’t hindi ko nasusulat sa notebook, kaya para makatulog ako kailangan ko siya isulat sa notebook,” Cadao explained.
Aside from singing and songwriting, Cadao also plays musical instruments such as the guitar, piano and drums.
“Huwag dapat sumuko and continue [in] pursuing their dreams whatever happens kasi kun kelan ka pinaka natatakot tumalon, dapat yun yung time na tatalon ka. It’s really your time to shine kapag kinakabahan ka,” Cadao’s advise to other aspiring local music composers.
