LEGAZPI CITY – Secretary of Interior and Local Government (SILG) Atty. Benjamin “Benjur” Abalos initiated to win the fight against drugs in a press briefing held at PRO 5 Maringal Lounge, Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City on Friday, January 27.
According to Abalos, the intensified drug watch has done a better job in terms of decreasing the cases of this illegal activity.
“Sa totoo lang, tao lang ako. Sinabi ko rin ‘to dati, mahirap din ‘to dahil you’re talking [about] syndicates. These [are] big syndicates,” Abalos implied when asked about his stance about this problem as SILG.
In addition, the efficiency of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo (KKDAT) was also highlighted as one of the most effective tools in combatting illegal drugs.
“I promise you that we will really, not only fight this but we will win this fight against drugs,” Abalos said.
Sec. Abalos arrived in Albay today for the provincial and regional launching of the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Iwasan (BIDA) program at Camp Simeon Ola, Legazpi City.
