LEGAZPI CITY – A police officer sustained multiple injuries in a road accident in Legazpi City around 7:30 p.m., January 21.
Police initial investigation showed that the victim, PCMS Gomercindo Battaler, Jr., 43, was driving his motorcycle along Peñaranda Ext., Brgy. Bonot, when an unidentified tricycle driver sideswiped his vehicle.
Battaler was rushed immediately to UST-Legazpi Hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Honeyca de Jesus Ancheta, in a Facebook post, calls for financial help for the victim’s medical expenses.
“Ang kalagayan po [ngayon] ni Kuya Don ay hindi maganda, Comatose po sia at kasalukuyan po siang nasa ICU sa BRTTH dahil nag karun po siya ng brain [hemorrhage] or pag durugo ng utak. Under observation po [siya],…kahit barya ay napakalaking tulong po eto at tatanawing utang na loob ng buong pamilya.”she stated.
The Legazpi City Police Station is conducting a follow-up investigation to identify the tricycle driver who immediately escaped after the incident.
