Mga mangingisda, bida sa Mambulao Dragon Boat Race sa Camarines Norte

Nagpakitang-gilas ng liksi sa pagsagwan ang anim na grupo ng mga mangingisda sa kauna-unahang Mambulao Dragon Boat Race sa Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte Huwebes.

Ayon sa chairperson ng Committee on Tourism ng Sangguniang Bayan, inorganisa ng LGU ang karera para ipakita ang potensiyal ng mga mangingisda na maging world-class paddlers.

Tiwala rin ito na makatutulong ang karera na muling maibalik ang sigla ng turismo at kabuhayan ng mga taga-Camarines Norte.

“Kapag idinaos sa atin ang invitational races, grupo-grupong paddlers mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa ang dadayo sa Camarines Norte. Ang bangka ay locally-manufactured lamang,” ani Coun. Artemio Andaya Jr.

Mula sa mga lumahok na mangingisda, plano umano ng LGU na makabuo ng 12-man rowing team para isabak sa national at international dragon boat races.

“We have volunteer coach na isa ring taga-Jose Panganiban na naka-based sa Manila at sumasali sa national at international dragon boat races,” dagdag ng opisyal.

Nanalo sa kumpetisyon na bahagi ng Mambulao Festival ang rowing teams ng mga barangay ng Osmeña, Dayhagan at Larap.
